Shake the Dust

Shake the Dust / The Making Of from Loose Luggage on Vimeo.

I stumbled across the trailer for this upcoming documentary today and am now excited to see the feature length version when it comes out. Shake the Dust (also the name of an lovely poem by Anis Mogjani) tells the story of hip hop and breakdancing in communities around the world. Though I’m neither a hip hop connoisseur nor a break dancer myself, I appreciate it when media shows the hopeful, happy and beautiful sides of “struggling communities.” As the director of Shake the Dust says in his philosophy, “People need to see the full truth– both the suffering, and the humanity.”
